At 11:00 P.M. eastern time, the networks officially projected that Barack Obama would get the 270 electoral votes needed to win the presidency.The current electoral count is Obama 338, McCain 156 according the CNN.com. Indiana, North Carolina, Missouri, Montana, and --get this--Nebraska's 2nd Congressional District are still too close to call. Alaska's polls just closed and it is too early to call.
CNN has the popular vote count at Obama 52% and McCain 47%.
It is very late, but I will have the full state-by-state election results for you tomorrow as well as an analysis of exit poll data over the next few days.
